Anmeldung in Potsdam

Anmeldung (registering your address) with the Meldebehoerde in Potsdam, handled by the Buergerservicecenter.

Deadline: register within two weeks of moving in (Bundesmeldegesetz §17(1)). Cost: the Anmeldung is free of charge.

Bring with you:

• Personalausweis and/or Reisepass. Non-EU citizens bring their passport together with their residence title.
• Wohnungsgeberbestaetigung from your Wohnungsgeber (landlord), who is legally obliged to take part in the Anmeldung (Bundesmeldegesetz §19). Owner-occupiers are their own Wohnungsgeber and issue it themselves.
• The completed Meldeschein (Anmeldung form).
• Geburtsurkunde for each child you register, and the Eheurkunde if you register as a married couple.

Appointment: registration is by appointment. Book through the official portal: https://termin.potsdam.de/

After the appointment: first-time registrants receive their Steuer-ID by post (§139b AO / BZSt).

Delegiert prepares your documents and prefills the form. You attend the appointment and hand everything in yourself.
